China advances to next phase of 6G trials

(MENAFN) China has officially started the second stage of its 6G technical trials following the completion of the initial phase, according to an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Ministry spokesperson Xie Cun said the first phase produced a reserve of over 300 crucial 6G technologies, as stated by reports. China now boasts the world’s largest information infrastructure, with more than 4.8 million 5G base stations and over 1.2 billion users, Xie added.

The country also holds the majority of global 6G patents. The upcoming 6G network is expected to dramatically outperform 5G, offering speeds exceeding one terabit per second and ultra-low latency around 100 microseconds.
