China, UN Urge Stronger Vocational Training in Africa
This shared stance was presented on Sunday during the inauguration of a seminar on vocational education management and capacity enhancement for the Luban Workshop, held in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia.
Jiang Feng, the chief representative of the Chinese Mission to the African Union (AU), reaffirmed China's commitment to fostering a network for vocational development across Africa.
He noted this would be achieved through a range of training initiatives aimed at building practical skills.
"The training seminar initiated today is a practical measure to implement the commitments within the framework of the China-Africa-UN Tripartite Cooperation Demonstration Center," he said.
"It focuses on the demand for skilled talents in the industrialization process of Africa, and deeply connects with the AU Agenda 2063."
Jiang underlined that China has already launched thousands of such training efforts, many of which have taken place overseas, specifically to support African participants.
He emphasized that the collaboration between China and Africa is gathering pace—particularly in key sectors such as industrial growth, agricultural advancement, and the nurturing of skilled professionals.
He also mentioned that China has rolled out 17 different partnership initiatives in Africa.
These range across areas such as governance improvement, industrial support, infrastructure development, trade streamlining, eco-friendly progress, educational empowerment, public health, cultural engagement, and security promotion.
